Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jose Rondon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mel Bec! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rondon moves forwards but Bec connects with a nice, crisp jab.
It looks like Jose Rondon has been cut. Bec rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rondon moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Rondon attempts a counter takedown but Bec avoids it well and moves away. Rondon dives in and scores a takedown into Bec's guard. Rondon looking to pass the guard. Rondon slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Rondon tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Rondon is working hard here to advance position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rondon has knee on belly and moves into mount. Rondon throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Bec has his hands clasped together but Rondon breaks the hold and Bec is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Rondon!
