The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stone fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tataglia, pushing him back against the cage. Stone has Tataglia pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Tataglia manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Tataglia wants to break free but Stone has control.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Phil Stone. That's going to take a lot out of him. Stone tightens his grip and picks Tataglia up, before dumping him to the ground. Tataglia manages to land in guard. Tataglia wants to stand and escape but Stone is having none of it. Tataglia is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Stone has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Tataglia clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Tataglia walks into a jab. Stone decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Tataglia is trying to stand back up but Stone is controlling him

That's two minutes gone in the round. Stone keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Tataglia wants to get back to his feet. Tataglia is refusing to be controlled, as Stone sits in half guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Stone clinches up against the cage.

Tataglia throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Stone blocks it with crossed arms. Stone's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Stone throws a nice head kick!
Stone closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tataglia circles away. Tataglia clinches but Stone breaks the clinch and Stone counters with a single leg into guard. Tataglia didn't expect that. Stone trying to control the position from guard on top but Tataglia is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Stone in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stone trying to control but Tataglia is working from the bottom. Stone is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Tataglia wants to stand but Stone is controlling the position. Stone content to stall in guard here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Phil Stone dominated that round. That's time! Stone's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Stone changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tataglia looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Tataglia pushes Stone away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Stone gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Stone decides to stand up, so the ref orders Tataglia to his feet. Tataglia tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Stone bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Stone thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Stone trying to control the action but Tataglia is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tataglia is trying to buck Stone off. Stone wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Tataglia, who protects the arm well. Stone wants to control but Tataglia is keeping him busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Stone swings around for an armbar but Tataglia sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Stone's guard. Tataglia would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Tataglia wants to stand and escape but instead Stone has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stone looking to sit in guard and control but Tataglia gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Stone throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Tataglia escapes and throws Stone's legs to the side, diving into side control! You can see the frustration on Stone's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Stone is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tataglia is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Tataglia stands up and beckons Stone to his feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Stone shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Stone showed some decent athleticism there. Stone is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Phil Stone dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Tataglia pushes off an throws an elbow but Stone leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Tataglia holding his opponent close, against the cage.

Stone changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tataglia tries to avoid it but Stone manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tataglia to the ground. Tataglia escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Tataglia shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Stone but Stone pushes him off and we're back to square one. Tataglia tries to clinch and Stone counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Stone. Stone tries for a takedown. No joy.

That's one minute gone in the round. Tataglia stands up from guard. Let's bang! Tataglia throws a sloppy head kick and Stone counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Tataglia is lucky that one didn't land flush. Stone drives through with a takedown into guard. Stone is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Tataglia is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Tataglia has escaped and now he's on top! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tataglia preventing the sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tataglia would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Stone is pulling down on Tataglia's head to control his posture. Stone manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tataglia's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Stone get's back to his feet. Stone clinches with his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Stone is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Phil Stone. That's going to take a lot out of him. Stone breaks the clinch.

Phil Stone is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Stone looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
And that's the end of the fight! Phil Stone showed his dominance in that final round. Well Stone has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
