The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shark throws a big shot that misses.
Tampukpuk is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Some wild striking there from Shark.
We've been told by Shark's head coaches at Iron Sharpens Iron that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Nice jab there from Tampukpuk.
Shark rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tampukpuk moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Shark scores with a sloppy right hand. Tampukpuk should have avoided that one.
Shark tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Tampukpuk defends well and Shark ends up having to push Tampukpuk into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Tampukpuk looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Shark changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Tampukpuk fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Shark misses with a body shot
and Tampukpuk counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Shark looks to land a right hand but Tampukpuk moved out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shark misses with a straight left.
A little jabbing left from Tampukpuk on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Shark throws a right and a left that both miss.
Tampukpuk steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Shark.
Shark shoots in for a takedown but Tampukpuk shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Shark. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tampukpuk fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

David Shark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tampukpuk steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Shark.
Tampukpuk wants to counter the offense by Shark and move into the clinch position.

Tampukpuk tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shark swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Shark will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Shark rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Tampukpuk counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Tampukpuk takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Shark is defended easily by Tampukpuk.

Tampukpuk bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
