Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sergio Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark MacLeod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sergio Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mark MacLeod! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Thiago Cunha and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from MacLeod as Gracie shoots in. Gracie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around MacLeod's waist but MacLeod gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gracie off to one side. MacLeod throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gracie throws a hook but MacLeod blocks it. MacLeod throws a series of punches but Gracie moves out of range. Gracie gets the takedown into side control. MacLeod sneaks back into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gracie wants to stand up but MacLeod is controlling the position.
MacLeod looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. MacLeod is trying to maintain the position but Gracie is very close to passing his half guard. Gracie is working for a submission of some sort.
MacLeod moves into full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Gracie wants to control but MacLeod is keeping him busy. MacLeod struggling a bit here. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. MacLeod manages to work his way to half guard, despite Gracie's best efforts. MacLeod has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gracie is working away from the top position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. MacLeod is staying active underneath Gracie, who seems content to just control the action from this position. MacLeod wants to control but Gracie is keeping busy.
MacLeod is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Gracie is staying active. It looks like Gracie is going to stand back up.
MacLeod wants to improve his position but Gracie is controlling well.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. MacLeod misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
MacLeod on the wrong end of a nice hook. MacLeod scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. MacLeod is trying to get an arm triangle but Gracie is defending well. MacLeod looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. MacLeod sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Gracie is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Gracie is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Gracie is being controlled here. Gracie is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Gracie gets back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Gracie keeping control of the position. MacLeod is trying to control. Gracie wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Gracie is defending against the submission attempts here by MacLeod.
MacLeod wants to advance to full mount but Gracie doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. MacLeod trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Sergio Gracie will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
MacLeod throws a right and a left that Gracie avoids nicely. A punch combination from MacLeod misses. MacLeod keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Gracie is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. MacLeod goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. MacLeod takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. MacLeod throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Gracie misses with a looping right. Gracie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gracie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Gracie is looking to stand but Gracie has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Gracie wants to control the pace but MacLeod is squirming around nicely. Gracie controlling from mount. MacLeod is trying desperately to improve position. MacLeod is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie tries to control but MacLeod wriggling away. MacLeod is looking to get to half guard. MacLeod is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Gracie trying to control but he's not successful this time. MacLeod tries to hold on but Gracie postures up. MacLeod is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Gracie stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. MacLeod scores with a three punch combo!
Gracie throws a nice looking combination but MacLeod bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. MacLeod throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gracie. A nice inside leg kick there by MacLeod. That's going to slow Gracie down. Gracie wants to clinch. Gracie misses with a double jab.
Sergio Gracie is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. MacLeod misses with a few strikes there.
Gracie tries a head kick but it misses.
Gracie shoots in and bounces MacLeod off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. MacLeod has Gracie pulled in close to control his posture. MacLeod manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gracie manages to get himself to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. MacLeod looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Gracie keeping moving, preventing MacLeod from controlling successfully. Gracie has MacLeod pulled in close to control his posture. MacLeod seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. MacLeod gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. MacLeod postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. MacLeod drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gracie manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now MacLeod has Gracie in his guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. MacLeod trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Gracie wants to stand but MacLeod has a closed guard, so he can't escape. MacLeod is looking for a triangle here but Gracie uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sergio Gracie dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
MacLeod staying out of range there. MacLeod scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Gracie is in trouble now - MacLeod has advanced to mount! Gracie is trying to reverse the position but instead MacLeod has taken his back - oops! Gracie just trying to survive but MacLeod is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Gracie is taking damage to the body and head. MacLeod working for a choke but Gracie is defending well. Gracie wants to get back to his feet. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. MacLeod controls the position. Gracie turns into MacLeod and is now in his guard.
MacLeod not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gracie works a leg free and moves into half guard. MacLeod tries to roll over but Gracie keeps him under control. Gracie is trying to control the action in half guard but MacLeod is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. MacLeod trying to control from the bottom.
Gracie is trying to control. MacLeod wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Gracie wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. MacLeod looking for submissions off his back.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Gracie fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gracie shoots in but no luck this time. MacLeod uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Gracie. MacLeod throws a right and a left that Gracie avoids nicely. Gracie connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between MacLeod's hands. MacLeod shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gracie's guard. MacLeod advances to half guard. Gracie trying to control from the bottom.
Gracie keeping hold of MacLeod's head, controlling as best he can. MacLeod is looking to advance position but Gracie won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. MacLeod is looking for a kimura here.
Gracie regains full guard. Nicely done. Sergio Gracie is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Sergio Gracie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gracie pushes MacLeod off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. No joy there for MacLeod, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sergio Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gracie checks the leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Gracie ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Gracie misses with a takedown and MacLeod counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Gracie clinches but MacLeod breaks the clinch and MacLeod counters with a shoot takedown. Gracie fights it but they end up in guard. MacLeod postures up.
Gracie is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because MacLeod is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Gracie wants to stand but MacLeod is controlling the position. Gracie looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
And that's the end of the fight! Mark MacLeod comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Gracie has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
