Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Scott Shredder (ranked 4958 p4p, 3801 weight class) and Jose Rondon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott Shredder could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jose Rondon's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Scott Shredder! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jose Rondon! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shredder dives in for a single leg takedown but Rondon sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Rondon tries a quick counter leg kick but Shredder is wise to it. Rondon prevents a takedown attempt there.
Shredder goes for a takedown in the clinch but Rondon prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Shredder. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rondon works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Rondon slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Rondon tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rondon has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Shredder tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rondon wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shredder gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Shredder is looking to improve his position but Rondon isn't that keen on the idea. Shredder knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rondon on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shredder is working hard here to advance position. Shredder on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shredder tries to get out of the position. Rondon moves to back control. Rondon looking for the choke but no joy. Shredder tries to escape but Rondon has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Rondon not allowing Shredder to control his hands. Rondon is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Shredder has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Rondon has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Shredder taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Rondon doesn't care though - he's delighted!
