Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy John (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sammook Polman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John comes to the cage accompanied by Peace Minus One by Rorschach Test . Polman comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Dying Fetus - One Shot One Kill kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tommy John! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sammook Polman! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Polman misses with an uppercut. John will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. John blocks the body kick.
A good leg kick by Polman. Polman connects with a solid leg kick. John blocks a head kick by Polman.
John takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Polman moves away from the strike by John. John misses with a jab, cross combination.
Tommy John seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A combination from Polman does no damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Polman swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and John counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Polman scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
It looks like Tommy John has been cut. John throws a left and a right that both miss
and Polman counters with a flying knee that sends his opponent to the canvas! Polman looking to finish!
John is rocked! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Polman with a flurry of punches that miss. Polman is looking to stand up but John won't let him. John escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Polman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. John looking for a guillotine here but Polman defends easily.
John is breathing heavily. John trying to keep a closed guard but Polman is proving a slippery customer.
Polman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's two minutes gone in the round. John is working an open guard so Polman takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. John looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Polman! John prevents Polman from getting the reversal. Poor strikes thrown by John there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
John goes for an armbar but Polman turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Polman. Polman would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Polman controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. John scores with a nice shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Polman wants to get up but he can't break John's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. John might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Polman tries to free his leg and advance position but John is retaining full guard. John is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. John is looking for a triangle here but Polman uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Polman has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Polman throws a leg kick but John sees it coming and moves out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. John shoots for a takedown but Polman saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Polman misses with a head kick.
Polman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tommy John. That's going to take a lot out of him. John throws a lazy head kick and Polman counters with an outside leg kick.
Polman misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A head kick lands from Polman that sends John to the canvas. John tries to scramble back to his feet but Polman brings him back down into side control.
That's five minutes gone in the round. John is positioning himself to get back to half guard. John is trying to escape the position but Polman is controlling the position. John is trying to control Polman's posture but Polman avoids it. Polman decides to stand back up. Polman steps back and let's John get back to his feet. Polman scores with a hook. Polman tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Polman misses with a low kick.
That's six minutes gone in the round. John has a takedown stuffed. Polman motions for John to come forward. Polman throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. John shoots and misses and Polman counters with a solid body kick. Polman throws a head kick that misses and John counters with a one-two to the body. Polman lands a front kick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Polman swinging wilding here.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. John misses with a double jab
and Polman counters with a thumping low kick. Polman scores with a head kick.
Polman throws a leg kick which misses John's front leg but catches the back leg as John tries to avoid it. John closes the distance and clinches up with Polman, looking for a takedown. John pushes Polman against the cage but Polman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Polman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from Polman! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Sammook Polman!
