Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between San Cou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big Guns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Guns has chosen RENEGADE MASTER as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cou throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Guns fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cou tries to close the distance and clinch but Guns swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Guns is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Cou can't fight it off and eventually Guns manages to take the fight to the floor. Cou looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Guns postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cou is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Guns, into his guard.

Guns moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

and Cou counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Guns looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
San Cou has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Big Guns.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cou stalks Guns and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Guns's face. Guns staggers backwards, shaken.
Big Guns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cou clobbers Guns with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Guns drops his hands momentarily and Cou takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Guns shoots in looking for a takedown. Cou tries to sprawl out of it but Guns keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cou manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Guns throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Cou escapes and throws Guns's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Cou decides to take the fight back to the feet.

and Cou counters with a three punch combo that has Guns backing up. Guns nods at Cou to acknowledge the strikes.
Cou rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Guns moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Guns bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Guns is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cou knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Guns swings around for an armbar but Cou sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Guns's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Guns is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Cou pulls his head out easily.

That was a close round but I would say that San Cou will probably get the nod.
