Vargas gets through Shavers's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Vargas lands a right hand that snaps the head of Shavers backwards.
Shavers throws a punch but it's blocked by Vargas.
Vargas struggles to land a body shot inside as Shavers controls his hands.
A short body shot lands from Vargas as the two fighters clinch.
Vargas digs a right hand into Shavers's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Shavers's gas tank.
Vargas pushes Shavers back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Vargas drops Shavers with a big knee straight up the middle! Shavers is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

Vargas cracks Shavers with a left hook right on the temple and Shavers goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Vargas lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Shavers is OK!

A relieved looking Arturo Vargas thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
