PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Usko Unbelivable (ranked 1544 p4p, 1704 weight class) and Takeda Shida (ranked 78 p4p, 86 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Unbelivable fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Unbelivable shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Shida's guard.
Unbelivable wants to control from the top but Shida keeps moving.
Unbelivable throws a big elbow that misses.

Unbelivable tries to free his leg and advance position but Shida is retaining full guard.
Unbelivable looking to sit in guard and control but Shida gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Shida really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Unbelivable. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Unbelivable working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shida doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shida manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Unbelivable throws a combination that misses
and Shida counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Unbelivable darts in looking for a takedown but Shida gets double underhooks and turns Unbelivable into the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Shida.
Unbelivable drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Shida prevents a takedown attempt there.

Shida feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Unbelivable sprawling to the canvas! Unbelivable rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Shida finish him?!

It looks like Usko Unbelivable has been cut.
Shida throws a body punch but Unbelivable moves out of range.
Unbelivable shoots in but Shida avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Shida throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Unbelivable seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Unbelivable tries to close the distance and clinch but Shida swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Shida counters with a crisp right hand that drops Unbelivable! Shida lets Unbelivable back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Shida enables Unbelivable to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Shida manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Unbelivable in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Unbelivable might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Unbelivable stands up and waves to Shida to follow him.
Shida catches Unbelivable with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Unbelivable is rocked!
Unbelivable throws a leg kick but Shida sees it coming and moves out of range.
Shida swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Unbelivable dives in for a single leg takedown but Shida sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Shida breaks from the clinch.
Unbelivable goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Takeda Shida dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Usko Unbelivable's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Unbelivable seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Unbelivable decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Shida, up you get!

Shida kicks Unbelivable off and gets back to his feet.

Shida scores with a crisp jab that stopped Unbelivable in his tracks.

Shida sends Unbelivable crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Shida is motioning to the referee to let Unbelivable up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Oh Unbelivable is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Unbelivable tries to get into range but Shida steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Unbelivable! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Shida scores the big KO victory!
