Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Masterson (ranked 3522 p4p, 4340 weight class) and Holy Moly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Masterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Holy Moly!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moly closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Masterson tries to get to full guard but Moly has control of the leg.
Masterson has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Moly missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Moly wants to take a breather but Masterson is having none of it.
Masterson manages to get to full guard.
Moly controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Moly stopping the sweep attempt from Masterson.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Moly avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Masterson is adopting a defensive guard.
Masterson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Moly doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Moly manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Moly wants to stand but Masterson is controlling his posture from full guard.
Moly trying to control the position from guard on top but Masterson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Moly really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Masterson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Masterson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Moly can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Oh but Masterson is tightening it up a little... Moly has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Moly reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Moly taps out! Nice BJJ there by Masterson!
