Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Max Fury (ranked 24723 p4p, 5700 weight class) and Punch Bag (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bag has chosen Eye of the tiger as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Max Fury!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Punch Bag!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jonathan Paton and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bag fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Fury to the ground. Bag is now in Fury's guard.

Fury manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Fury shoots in and gets a takedown into Bag's guard.
Fury trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Fury throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bag works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Bag wants to stand but Fury is controlling the position.
Fury missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Bag is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bag manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fury manages to get himself to full guard.


That's one minute gone in the round.
Bag pushing down on Fury's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Bag wants to get back to his feet.
Fury tries to get to full guard but Bag has control of the leg.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bag connects with a nice short shot to Fury's temple.

Bag is looking for a kimura but Fury is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bag to get the leverage.
Bag is looking to advance position but Fury won't allow it.
Bag is trying to control. Fury wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bag working Fury over with strikes.
Bag looks to land a strike but Fury avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Bag wants to control from the top but Fury keeps moving.
Fury knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bag on the ground.
Bag throws a big elbow that misses.
Fury keeping moving, preventing Bag from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fury is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Fury drives through with a takedown into Bag's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Bag bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fury's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Fury controls Bag momentarily but Bag frees himself.
Bag with a flurry of punches that miss.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bag trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Bag trying to control the position from guard on top but Fury is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bag missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Fury keeping full guard, as Bag tries to pass.
Bag trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Fury manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Fury trying to control the position from guard on top but Bag is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Fury keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bag's head.
Fury is standing up over Bag. Bag looks to escape but Fury dives into side control.
Bag has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Bag tries to improve position but can't.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bag struggling a bit here.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Max Fury will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Fury closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fury lands in his opponent's guard.
Bag wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Fury manages to pass to side control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bag is looking to control Fury's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bag avoid being mounted?
Max Fury overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Fury working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Fury not doing much here.
Bag is looking to improve his position.
Fury trying to control the action but Bag is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Bag is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Fury misses with a head shot. Bag uses the momentum to regain guard.
Fury in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Bag wants to get back to his feet but Fury is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Fury throws an elbow that misses. Bag uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Fury's guard. Nice move by Bag!


That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bag wants to control from the top but Fury keeps moving.

Bag got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fury has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bag has managed to get both his arms back between Fury's legs - danger averted.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bag changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fury tries to avoid it but Bag manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fury to the ground. Fury escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bag fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Bag shoots in but no luck this time.
Max Fury has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Punch Bag.
Bag is breathing heavily.

Fury shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Fury looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fury trying to control the pace.
Bag is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Max Fury dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Bag looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fury is fending him off so far but Bag persists. Nope, Fury circles away and we're back to standing.

Fury gets a double leg takedown into Bag's guard.
Fury slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Fury's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Bag controls Fury momentarily but Fury frees himself.

Bag shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fury as he avoids it easily.
Max Fury is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Fury stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Fury wants it to stay on the feet.
Max Fury has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Punch Bag.
Bag takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

and Fury counters by clinching up.

Bag jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Fury walks away with a smile on his face. Bag gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Fury rushes Bag and presses him up against the cage.
Bag is looking to take this one to the mat.

Fury's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Fury seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Bag wants to control the action here but instead Fury manages to pass to full mount!
Fury connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Max Fury is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Fury lands a big elbow.
Bag tries to buck Fury off but he can't manage it.
Fury controlling from mount.
Bag is bucking up trying to escape but Fury cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Fury tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Bag is looking to get to half guard.
Fury controlling from the full mount.
Bag is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fury controlling the position easily from mount.

And that's the end of the fight!
Max Fury showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Fury has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
