Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Limu Emu (ranked 3175 p4p, 22850 weight class) and Tunde Balogun (ranked 435 p4p, 605 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Limu Emu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tunde Balogun! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, David Schapiro and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emu looks to land a left hand but Balogun moved out of range nicely. And Balogun tries to counter it with a takedown but Emu pushes his down on his head and steps out. A jab from Emu misses. Limu Emu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Emu ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Balogun moves away. Emu looks to score with a jab to the body but Balogun is just out of range. Balogun checks a leg kick. A looping hook to the body misses from Emu. Balogun does a little dance to reset his feet. Balogun tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Emu thows a left - swing and a miss! Balogun displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Emu throws out the jab. Emu misses the jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emu throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Nice defenses there by Balogun. Emu throws a low kick but Balogun avoids it. Emu swings for the body but Balogun moves out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Emu swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Balogun ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Balogun drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Emu defends it well. A big left from Emu misses. Balogun checks a leg kick. And Balogun tries to counter it with a takedown but Emu pushes his down on his head and steps out. Emu gets the takedown into side control. Emu wants to lay and pray for a moment but Balogun keeps working. An elbow from Emu crashes against the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Emu misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Balogun is looking for a sweep. Balogun is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Emu is controlling him well. Balogun tries to get back to half guard but can't. Balogun can't do much from the bottom here. The strikes coming from Emu are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Emu trying to control the action but Balogun is working from the bottom. Balogun tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Emu wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Emu tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Emu is looking to take a break and control but Balogun is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Emu is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Balogun will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Emu working the ground and pound but Balogun is defending the strikes. Balogun tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Emu wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Limu Emu dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Emu throws a body shot but no joy. Balogun changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Emu misses with a hook. Balogun feints the counter takedown. Emu throws a leg kick so Balogun counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Balogun passes Emu's left leg - he's now in half guard. Balogun is thwarting Emu's attempts to control the position. Emu is looking for a sweep. Balogun is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Balogun content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Emu looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Emu is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Balogun can do to turn this around?
That's one minute gone in the round. Balogun wants to stand but Emu has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Balogun is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Balogun is looking to stand up but Emu won't let him. Emu utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Balogun wanted to stand there but Emu had control of the position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Emu throws a hook to the side of Balogun's head but Balogun sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Balogun feints the counter takedown. Balogun checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Good work by Balogun as he checks the leg kick. Balogun feints the counter takedown. Nice defenses there by Balogun. Balogun feints the counter takedown. Emu pivots, looking for a leg kick but Balogun is out of range and Emu settles back down. Balogun drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Emu defends it well. Emu throws a body punch but Balogun moves out of range. Emu is looking to score with low kicks. Balogun is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Balogun keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Emu. Balogun changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Emu decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Emu is just content to waste time from the top position. Balogun takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Balogun is trying to control the position but Emu postures up. Balogun keeping moving, preventing Emu from controlling successfully. Balogun is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Emu wants to control from the top but Balogun keeps moving. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Limu Emu will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Balogun is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Emu seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Balogun does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Balogun is looking to control Emu's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Balogun avoid being mounted?

Emu is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Emu has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Balogun is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Emu won't allow Balogun to sweep him here. Emu is looking to work some ground and pound but Balogun has wrist control. Balogun seems keen to control Emu's posture. Balogun throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Good work by Balogun as he checks the leg kick. Balogun with the counter takedown but Emu avoids it easily. Emu manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Balogun on his heels. He'll look to pass Balogun's guard now, I'm sure. Balogun pulls Emu in to control the position. Emu controlling from the top position. Balogun wants to sweep but no luck.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emu slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Emu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Balogun swivels though and keeps the full guard. Balogun not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Balogun can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Emu controls the pace.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Limu Emu is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Emu drives through with a takedown into guard. Emu won't allow Balogun to sweep him here. Emu pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Balogun is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Emu controls from within his opponent's guard. Balogun throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Emu content to stall in guard here. And that's the end of the fight! Limu Emu showed his dominance in that final round. Well Emu has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
