Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gerard Money (ranked 4425 p4p, 5928 weight class) and Jack Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 394 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gerard Money! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Johnson! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Money tries to sprawl but Johnson drives through with a takedown into half guard. Money kicks off Johnson and gets to his feet. Johnson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Johnson is trying to push Money away but Money has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Johnson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Money just stands there and leans against the cage. Johnson works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Money wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Money bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Johnson's guard. Johnson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Money controls the pace. Money with a nice head shot there. Johnson looking for a sweep. Not yet Johnson, not yet. Money trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Johnson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Money is one step ahead there. Money is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup. Johnson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Jack Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice shot by Money. Johnson doesn't manage to clinch there - Money circles away.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Money shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Johnson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Money trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom. Johnson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Money is controlling him. Money postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Johnson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Johnson wants to sweep but no luck. Johnson looks winded! Money sitting in guard, not really doing much. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Money shoots in looking for a takedown. Johnson tries to sprawl out of it but Money keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Johnson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Johnson shoots in but no luck this time. Johnson throws a solid leg kick but Money takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Johnson. Money pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Johnson back to the cage. Money follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A shot to the liver by Money. Beautiful body shot. An inside leg kick lands from Money. Money misses with a right hand and Johnson counters into the clinch. Nicely done. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Gerard Money dominated that round. That's time! Money's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Money tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Johnson takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Money darts in looking for a takedown but Johnson gets double underhooks and turns Money into the cage. Johnson dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Money decides to pull guard. Johnson lands a couple of elbows. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Money is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Money. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gerard Money overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Money throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Money seems keen to control Johnson's posture. Johnson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Money wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Johnson is now in half guard. Money makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Money. Money keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Johnson stopping the sweep attempt from Money. Money throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Johnson wants to stand but Money has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Money working a defensive guard here.
Johnson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Money lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Money will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Money trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom. Money controlling from the top position. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Money pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Money avoids the head kick by Johnson.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Johnson avoids the body shot from Money.
Money drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth. Money postures up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Johnson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Money tries to roll over but Johnson keeps him under control. Money is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Johnson can do to turn this around? Money works his way to full guard. Good work. Johnson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Johnson works his way back into a safe position though. Johnson controlling from the top position. Money has his hands on Johnson's head, controlling the position. Money controls Johnson momentarily but Johnson frees himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Johnson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Money pulls Johnson in close to prevent any damage. Money looking for a guillotine here but Johnson defends easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson wants to stand but Money is controlling his posture from full guard. Johnson stands up over Money, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Money is trying to keep Johnson in close.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Johnson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Money misses the jab. Money misses the jab. Money ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Johnson moves away. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Johnson. Money just misses with a punch to the body.
Gerard Money is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Money lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Jack Johnson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jack Johnson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Money avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! Gerard Money showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Money, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
