Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dutch Rudderme (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steve Harris has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dutch Rudderme!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Harris!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Jorge Garcia and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Harris looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Harris wants to stand up but Rudderme has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Rudderme wants to improve his position but Harris is controlling well.

Harris decides to stand up.
No joy there for Rudderme, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rudderme misses with a few strikes there.
Harris changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rudderme tries to avoid it but Harris manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rudderme to the ground. Rudderme escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Harris tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rudderme swivels and escapes.
Harris misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Dutch Rudderme has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Harris.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Harris throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rudderme's waist but Rudderme gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Harris off to one side.
Steve Harris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rudderme closes this distance looking for a takedown but Harris circles away.

Rudderme is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Harris.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Harris is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Rudderme stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Harris swivels though and keeps the full guard.
