PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Charles Dune (ranked 4275 p4p, 4402 weight class) and Gabe Oliviera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and Topper Green.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dune has a takedown stuffed.
Oliviera shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dune pinned against the cage. Dune gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Oliviera darts in looking for a takedown but Dune gets double underhooks and turns Oliviera into the cage.
Dune throws the kick towards the body but Oliviera avoids it.

Dune gets tackled into the cage by Oliviera. Oliviera maintains the clinch.

Dune breaks from the clinch.
Dune cracks Oliviera with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dune shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Oliviera as he jumps to the side.
Oliviera tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dune swivels and escapes.

Oliviera is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Dune presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Oliviera is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Oliviera manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dune manages to get himself to full guard.

Horrible takedown attempt by Dune or perhaps it was just good defense by Oliviera, which made it look bad.

Oliviera working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dune doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dune manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Oliviera is on top in guard.

Oliviera decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Oliviera throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dune's waist but Dune gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Oliviera off to one side.
