Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Nolan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Haki Ngata!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ngata shoots in looking for a takedown. Nolan tries to sprawl out of it but Ngata keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nolan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Nolan drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Ngata not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Ngata really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nolan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Nolan forces his way into half guard.
Ngata is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nolan is thwarting Ngata's attempts to control the position.
Nolan content to control rather than advance.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Nolan is working for a kimura but Ngata is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ngata wants to sweep but Nolan has passed to side control!
Ngata tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Nolan is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ngata is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Nolan stands up.
Nolan fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Nolan showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ngata.
Ngata should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Nolan throws a body shot but no joy.
Nolan tries to clinch but Ngata moves out of range.
Ngata closes the distance and clinches up with Nolan, looking for a takedown. Ngata pushes Nolan against the cage but Nolan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nolan seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Nolan keeps the fight on the outside.
Nolan throws a sloppy head kick and Ngata moves out of range easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Nolan drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ngata looking to control but Nolan passes into half guard.

Ngata pushes Nolan off, looking to escape but Nolan dives into side control. He's locked up a kimura now - that was fast! He's cranking on it and Ngata is forced to tap! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jason Nolan!
