Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Edmund Blackadder! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcus Jones! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blackadder fails in his attempt to clinch. Blackadder shoots for a takedown but Jones saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Blackadder. Blackadder shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edmund Blackadder. That's going to take a lot out of him. Blackadder fails with a takedown attempt. Blackadder gets caught flat footed, as Jones shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Jones is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Jones passes easily into side control. Nice work. Jones is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Blackadder is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Jones throwing shots but missing, from side control. Jones moves into full mount! Jones looking to ground and pound but Blackadder is blocking nicely. Blackadder is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Jones has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Blackadder working to try and regain half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Jones wants to take Blackadder's back here but Blackadder is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Jones looking to secure an arm triangle but Blackadder defends it well. Blackadder is trying to escape the mount.
Jones wants to finish this one by submission but Blackadder is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Jones. Blackadder is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Jones can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Blackadder is looking to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Blackadder tries to hold on but Jones postures up. Blackadder can't escape the position.
Jones thowing shots but they're missing. Blackadder is desperately trying to improve his position but Jones has a good base and remains in mount. Jones trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Jones with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Blackadder is in all sorts of trouble here.
Jones is stalling here but it's allowed Blackadder to get half guard.
Blackadder tries to roll over but Jones keeps him under control. Jones has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jones looking to control but Blackadder is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Jones dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Blackadder tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range. Edmund Blackadder seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A lazy left from Jones finds it's target. Blackadder has his takedown stuffed and Jones counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Jones is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Jones seems to be working for a kimura but Blackadder defends the submission attempt. Jones wants to pass the guard but Blackadder is defending well.

Jones is looking to advance position but Blackadder won't allow it. Blackadder knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground. Jones is stalling here. Blackadder is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Jones seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Blackadder has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Blackadder wants to stand but Jones has his arm trapped. Blackadder tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Blackadder misses the shot to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Blackadder misses with a takedown and Jones decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Blackadder's guard. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Blackadder is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones forces his way into half guard. Jones is pressing down on Blackadder's thigh, looking to free his foot. Blackadder is holding on for now. Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blackadder keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Blackadder doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jones. Blackadder on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Blackadder tries to get out of the position. Jones trying to control from Blackadder's half guard. Blackadder has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Jones throwing strikes but missing. Jones wants to control from the top but Blackadder keeps moving. Jones might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Blackadder kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Jones postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Blackadder is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jones, into his guard. Blackadder won't allow Jones to sweep him here. Jones is breathing heavily. Blackadder is stalling in the full guard. Blackadder wanted to stand there but Jones had control of the position. Jones looking for a sweep. Not yet Jones, not yet. Blackadder pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jones is keeping the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!
Jones bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Blackadder struggling a bit here. Blackadder is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Jones advances nicely into full mount. Blackadder is trying desperately to improve position. Jones is going olschool here, as he tries to force Blackadder to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Blackadder shrugs it off. Marcus Jones has got the better of the ground game so far. Jones working for a guillotine from mount but Blackadder is in no mood to give up. Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Blackadder trying desperately to get to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Blackadder turns into him and now he's in Jones's guard.
Blackadder wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. Blackadder trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jones working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Blackadder. Blackadder is stalling in the full guard. Jones working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Blackadder has passed into half guard!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Blackadder thows a huge punch but Jones dodges it nicely.
Jones avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Blackadder. Blackadder keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. The fighters are battling for position here. Jones manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Jones wants to sweep here but Blackadder controlling him for the moment. Blackadder wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. Jones will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Jones is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blackadder tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard. Jones working for a triangle but Blackadder defends it easily.

Blackadder wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Blackadder pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jones is keeping the position for now. Blackadder has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Blackadder looking to sit in guard and control but Jones gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Blackadder utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Blackadder keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. Marcus Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Blackadder misses with a takedown and Jones counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Blackadder closes the distance looking to clinch so Jones counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
And that's the end of the fight! Marcus Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
