Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Albert Gonzalez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tony Hedicki!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Jeff Smith and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hedicki wants to clinch but Gonzalez slips to the side
and Gonzalez counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Gonzalez wants to control from the top but Hedicki keeps moving.
Hedicki utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gonzalez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hedicki working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gonzalez.
Hedicki controls Gonzalez momentarily but Gonzalez frees himself.
Hedicki looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gonzalez is looking to work some ground and pound but Hedicki has wrist control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hedicki bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gonzalez's guard.
Gonzalez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hedicki gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hedicki postures up.
Gonzalez manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Hedicki shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gonzalez but Gonzalez pushes him off and we're back to square one.
It looked like Gonzalez wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Hedicki closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gonzalez circles away.
Hedicki gets caught flat footed, as Gonzalez shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Gonzalez trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Hedicki looking to control.
Gonzalez works over Hedicki with some ground and pound from guard.
Hedicki is rocked!
Gonzalez gets to his feet and stands over Hedicki, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Hedicki felt that one! Gonzalez unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Hedicki from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Albert Gonzalez!
