Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Henry Duggs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dylan Batt!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batt tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Duggs paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Batt fails to land the takedown.

Duggs closes the distance and clinches.

Batt ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Batt no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Duggs is stalling in the full guard.
Duggs distracts Batt with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Batt has momentary wrist control but Duggs slips an elbow through the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Duggs sitting in guard here, content to control.
Duggs wants to pass the guard but Batt is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Duggs showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Duggs stands and steps away. Batt gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
The fight stays on the outside here - Batt looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Duggs circles away from the clinch attempt.

Duggs shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Batt is trying to defend but Duggs finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Batt is looking for a sweep. Duggs is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Batt looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Duggs decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Duggs slips under a jab.
Duggs is looking for a counter combo.

Batt has taken the fight to the clinch.
A right hand to the body from Duggs.
Duggs tries a knee to the head but Batt blocks it.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Duggs creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Duggs has Batt pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Duggs pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Batt tumbling to the mat - Duggs dives into Batt's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Batt working for a triangle but Duggs defends it easily.
Batt throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Duggs's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Duggs avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Duggs stays in close to Batt's body and controls the position.

Batt has his foot on Duggs's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Duggs works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Batt looks winded!

Batt is looking for a triangle but Duggs pushes his legs off easily.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Duggs's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Duggs is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Duggs with a nice head shot there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Batt is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Duggs gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Batt shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Duggs but Duggs pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Duggs drops Batt with a big left hand! Batt is injured, injured bad! Duggs jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Henry Duggs!
