PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phillip Proctor (ranked 4218 p4p, 4219 weight class) and Francesco Monroe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monroe misses with an uppercut
and Proctor counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Proctor throws a lazy uppercut
and Monroe counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Monroe throws a poor cross that misses
and Proctor counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Francesco Monroe has been cut.
Proctor jabs Monroe to the body, keeping him at a distance.
A telegraphed right hand from Monroe misses the target.
A left lands for Monroe.

It looks like Phillip Proctor has been cut.
Monroe slips a jab from Proctor.
Proctor jabs Monroe right on the nose. Monroe blinks but takes it well.

Monroe looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Monroe throws an overhand right that lands on Proctor's shoulder, as Proctor tries to avoid the shot.

Monroe cracks Proctor with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Proctor looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Monroe finish him?

Proctor looks to score with a jab to the body but Monroe is just out of range.
Proctor moves out of range of the strikes.

Monroe cracks Proctor with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Proctor looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Monroe finish him?

Monroe throws a hook but Proctor avoids it easily.
A quick step to the side and Proctor tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Monroe ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Proctor moves away.
Monroe throws out a powerful jab.
Proctor steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Monroe.
Monroe throws an overhand right that lands on Proctor's shoulder, as Proctor tries to avoid the shot.

Proctor drops Monroe with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Monroe looks back up at him and smiles so Proctor waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Monroe is rocked!
Proctor throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Monroe is still on wobbly legs! Can Proctor finish him?
Monroe walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

That has opened up Francesco Monroe's cut even more.
Proctor lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Monroe falls backwards - clearly groggy! Proctor dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
