Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gaven Mcqueen (ranked 25469 p4p, 5063 weight class) and Ale Castroski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Castroski has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gaven Mcqueen ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ale Castroski! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Winston Alpacca and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcqueen moves into the clinch successfully.
Castroski looks winded! Mcqueen has picked Castroski up - he's going for a ride! Mcqueen dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Mcqueen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Mcqueen seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Castroski for as long as he can get away with. Mcqueen lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mcqueen connects with a nice short shot to Castroski's temple.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcqueen stalling. Mcqueen drops an elbow to the side of Castroski's head. Mcqueen is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Castroski!
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Mcqueen stands up from mount. Strange move. Mcqueen looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Mcqueen advances position into side control! You can see the frustration on Castroski's face as Mcqueen controls the position. Mcqueen 's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Mcqueen landing strikes. Mcqueen is trying to get an arm triangle but Castroski is defending well. Mcqueen stands up and we're back to a striking position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mcqueen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Mcqueen gets a double leg takedown into Castroski's guard. Castroski is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Mcqueen dives into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mcqueen taking a breather here. Mcqueen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Castroski is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee asks Mcqueen politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Mcqueen prefers to stall for the moment though. Mcqueen lands an elbow. Mcqueen in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Mcqueen tries to move into full mount but can't pass Castroski's legs. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mcqueen decides to take the fight back to the feet. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Gaven Mcqueen dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Castroski on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Mcqueen drives through with a takedown into guard. Mcqueen is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Mcqueen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Castroski swivels though and keeps the full guard. Mcqueen controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Mcqueen lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Gaven Mcqueen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mcqueen sitting in guard here, content to control. Castroski is breathing heavily. Mcqueen stands and steps away. Castroski gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcqueen lands a big head kick that sends Castroski tumbling to the mat! Mcqueen takes a step backwards and waves Castroski back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Castroski is rocked!
It looks like Ale Castroski has been cut. Mcqueen fails with a takedown attempt. Castroski is still on wobbly legs! Can Mcqueen finish him? Gaven Mcqueen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Castroski keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Mcqueen scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mcqueen scores with a couple of short elbows. Mcqueen stands up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mcqueen has managed to clinch.
A left hand lands to the body for Mcqueen .
Mcqueen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Castroski gets caught napping as Mcqueen dives in and scores a takedown. Castroski manages to retain guard. Mcqueen has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Mcqueen throwing strikes from guard but Castroski blocks nicely. Mcqueen advances position into side control!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Castroski tries to bench press Mcqueen off him but Mcqueen keeps the position. Mcqueen stands up and beckons Castroski to his feet. Mcqueen is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Castroski can do to turn this around? Mcqueen fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gaven Mcqueen . That's going to take a lot out of him. The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Mcqueen pulls Castroski into guard.
Mcqueen has his foot on Castroski's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Castroski works his way back into a safe position though. Castroski seems to have recovered his senses. Castroski missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Mcqueen uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Mcqueen looks to score with a jab to the body but Castroski is just out of range. A punch combination from Mcqueen misses. Castroski tries to keep at a distance but Mcqueen has taken the fight into the clinch. Mcqueen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Gaven Mcqueen dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Ale Castroski's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Mcqueen clinches. Mcqueen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Mcqueen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Castroski is trying to escape the position but Mcqueen is controlling the position. Mcqueen working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Castroski pushes Mcqueen away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Mcqueen gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Mcqueen cracks Castroski with a big right hand but Castroski just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mcqueen stands up and we're back to a striking position. Mcqueen pushes Castroski up against the cage in a clinch. Castroski takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Mcqueen manages to break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcqueen shoots in for a takedown but Castroski shows good takedown defense. Mcqueen shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Castroski napping and manages to drive through into side control! Mcqueen content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Castroski tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mcqueen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Castroski is letting Mcqueen control him for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Castroski tries to control but Mcqueen manages to take his back. Mcqueen has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Castroski. Mcqueen lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Castroski is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Further stalling from Mcqueen . Mcqueen is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Castroski knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Castroski for a finish.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Castroski is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Mcqueen cracks Castroski with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Castroski from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Mcqueen looking to break Castroski's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Castroski remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Mcqueen will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Mcqueen controlling from the back. Castroski preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Mcqueen . Mcqueen is striking well from the back but Castroski escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being. Ale Castroski has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Gaven Mcqueen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Castroski missing with punches from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Gaven Mcqueen showed his dominance in that final round. Well Mcqueen has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
