Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arnhold Gutenberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Daniel Bishop and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gutenberg gets caught flat footed, as Davis shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Davis connects with a couple of short punches.
Gutenberg has his foot on Davis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Davis works his way back into a safe position though.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Davis fails in his attempt to clinch.
Gutenberg tries to clinch up but Davis circles away and keeps his distance.
Davis looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Davis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Davis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gutenberg swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Davis gets to his feet - Gutenberg follows without any prompting.

Davis stalks Gutenberg and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Gutenberg's face. Gutenberg staggers backwards, shaken.

Davis wants to stand but Gutenberg is controlling his arm.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Davis rushes Gutenberg and presses him up against the cage.
Davis ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Davis no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Davis wants to get back to his feet but Gutenberg is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Gutenberg is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Davis throws his legs up looking for a submission but Gutenberg uses it to pass to side control.
Gutenberg decides to stand back up. Gutenberg steps back and let's Davis get back to his feet.
Davis pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Davis takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Gutenberg wants to sweep but no luck.
Gutenberg has a closed guard, preventing Davis from standing up.
Gutenberg is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Davis is trying to stand up here but Gutenberg is controlling him well.

Gutenberg goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Davis is on top in guard.

John Davis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Gutenberg is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Davis shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Davis showed some decent athleticism there.
Gutenberg makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gutenberg.
Davis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Davis reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Davis taps out! nice BJJ there by Gutenberg!
