Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alikzandr Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joni Johnsso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joni Johnsso is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alikzandr Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Joni Johnsso!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko closes the distance and clinches up with Johnsso, looking for a takedown. Emelianenko pushes Johnsso against the cage but Johnsso circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Johnsso is trying to control the position but Emelianenko postures up.

Johnsso had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Emelianenko is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Johnsso Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Emelianenko's back instead.
Emelianenko breaks Johnsso's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Emelianenko loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Emelianenko won't allow Johnsso to sweep him here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnsso not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Emelianenko is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Emelianenko stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Johnsso swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Emelianenko looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Johnsso is fending him off so far but Emelianenko persists. Nope, Johnsso circles away and we're back to standing.
Emelianenko fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Johnsso manages to pull guard.
Johnsso manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Emelianenko manages to get himself to full guard.

Johnsso is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Emelianenko doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Johnsso.

Johnsso is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Emelianenko is just riding it out for now. Johnsso eventually gives up the hold.

Johnsso frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Johnsso wants to control the pace but Emelianenko is squirming around nicely.
Emelianenko has given up his back. Will we see Johnsso going for some submissions?

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Johnsso controlling the position well here. Emelianenko rolled but Johnsso kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Johnsso has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Emelianenko has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
