Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Blormarbius Goostain Runkums (ranked 1851 p4p, 2817 weight class) and Tokoni Soaki (ranked 88 p4p, 130 weight class). Soaki has chosen Shepherds Reign - Le Manu as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Blormarbius Goostain Runkums!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tokoni Soaki!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Winston Alpacca and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Soaki closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Soaki controlling the action here for a moment.

Goostain Runkums manages to break the clinch.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Soaki crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Goostain Runkums - the referee stops the clock and Soaki gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Goostain Runkums. Soaki manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Goostain Runkums loads up on a big right hand but Soaki slips the punch.
Soaki checks a leg kick.
Soaki uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Goostain Runkums.
Goostain Runkums takes one to the chin there.
Soaki motions for Goostain Runkums to come forward. Soaki throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Goostain Runkums misses with an uppercut. Soaki saw that one coming.
A looping hook to the body misses from Goostain Runkums. Soaki does a little dance to reset his feet.

Soaki has managed to clinch.
We've been informed that Soaki has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Goostain Runkums is trying to break the clinch but Soaki has him pressed against the cage.
Soaki has Goostain Runkums pressed against the cage, preventing Goostain Runkums from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Soaki will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Goostain Runkums up against the cage.
Goostain Runkums stalling in the clinch but Soaki improves position.

Soaki connects with a nice looking jab.
Goostain Runkums throws a shot from downtown. Soaki moves away and avoids it.
Goostain Runkums pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Soaki has closed the distance and engaged Goostain Runkums in a clinch.
Soaki misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Goostain Runkums.

Goostain Runkums wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Soaki has him pressed against the cage.

Soaki has clasped his hands together around Goostain Runkums's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Goostain Runkums tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Soaki controlling the position well here. Goostain Runkums rolled but Soaki kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
I really don't envy Goostain Runkums right now.

Soaki is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Goostain Runkums has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Goostain Runkums tries to escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Soaki is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Goostain Runkums rolls, trying to escape but Soaki keeps control of the position.
Soaki has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Goostain Runkums's body.
It looks like Soaki might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Soaki has the hooks in. Goostain Runkums is starting to panic. He's trying to push off one of the legs but he's left his neck open to attack. Soaki passes his arm under Goostain Runkums's neck and tightens up a rear naked choke! This one is surely all over! Yes, Goostain Runkums taps!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Tokoni Soaki!
During a confident post fight interview, Tokoni Soaki thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
