Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between TJ Samuel (ranked 3943 p4p, 5831 weight class) and Kyle Hunter (ranked 316 p4p, 375 weight class). Kyle Hunter is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, TJ Samuel !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kyle Hunter!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Roger Salmon and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left and a right from Samuel both land. Nice combination.
Samuel moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Hunter gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Samuel to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Samuel got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hunter has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Samuel has managed to get both his arms back between Hunter's legs - danger averted.
Samuel would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Hunter is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Samuel gets his way!
