Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Patrick (ranked 5011 p4p, 3486 weight class) and Matthew Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Patrick comes into the arena with I Win! blaring out of the sound system. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Patrick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Matthew Wilson! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wilson scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Patrick blocks a jab. Patrick thinks about countering with a head kick. Wilson wants to clinch but Patrick slips to the side and Patrick counters with a two punch combo. Patrick misses with a head kick.
Patrick drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Patrick slows the pace down. Patrick wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wilson keeps working. Wilson can't do much from the bottom here. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Patrick tries to stand but Wilson is controlling his head. Patrick in side control lands a decent elbow. Wilson being controlled for a moment. Patrick wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wilson keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Wilson wants to get back to his feet but Patrick is dominant here and he's now got Wilson's back! A lull in the action here.
Wilson is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Wilson staying busy and making it hard for Patrick to control. Patrick really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Wilson. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Patrick not allowing Wilson to control his hands.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Patrick's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Patrick keeps control of the position as Wilson tries to break free.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wilson looks winded! Patrick is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Patrick is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Wilson is defending well though. Patrick let's go of the attempt for now. Patrick lands shots from the back. Patrick controlling well, preventing Wilson from escaping the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Wilson is keeping busy.
Wilson is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Patrick dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Patrick fails with the takedown. Wilson fails with a takedown attempt. Patrick takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
A telegraphed right hand from Wilson misses the target. Patrick gets a double leg takedown into Wilson's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fighters are working up against the cage. Wilson manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Wilson. Wilson is breathing heavily. Patrick drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Wilson gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Patrick's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's one minute gone in the round. Patrick looks for the body kick but Wilson saw that one coming. Wilson tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Patrick forces Wilson back against the cage and clinches. Patrick is struggling to control the position. Patrick is trying to pull guard but Wilson turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Patrick. That's going to take a lot out of him. Patrick is working for takedown but Wilson is calmly controlling the position for now. Patrick lands a nice uppercut. Patrick breaks from the clinch.
Patrick is looking to clinch. Wilson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Patrick shoots in and bounces Wilson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Patrick is standing up over Wilson. Wilson looks to escape but Patrick dives into side control.
Daniel Patrick overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Patrick looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Wilson struggling a bit here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Patrick misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Wilson is trying to buck Patrick off. Patrick is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Wilson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Wilson tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Wilson is squirming around, avoiding Patrick's attempts to control the action. Wilson is mounted and he's throwing punches. Is that wise? Patrick takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Wilson holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Patrick tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Patrick dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round! Patrick tries to clinch up but Wilson circles away and keeps his distance. Patrick is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wilson can do to turn this around? Patrick closes the distance and clinches. Patrick tries to pull guard but Wilson holds him up against the cage and eventually Patrick drops back down to his feet.
Wilson tries to break free but Patrick pushes him back against the cage. Wilson tries to circle away but Patrick has him pinned against the cage. Patrick goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Wilson is trying to force a seperation but Patrick has the dominant position. Patrick manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Patrick decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Patrick is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Wilson is looking to escape. Wilson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wilson is looking to get back to is feet but Patrick passes into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Patrick tries to advance to mount but Wilson denies him. Patrick trying to control the action but Wilson is working from the bottom. A lull in the action here. Wilson is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Patrick looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Patrick is staying tight to Wilson's torso, preventing him from escaping. Patrick throws a strike aimed at the side of Wilson's head but Wilson avoids it well. Patrick cracks Wilson with a big elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Patrick scores with a couple of short elbows. Wilson is looking for a sweep. Wilson avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Patrick. Patrick swings around for an armbar but Wilson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Patrick's guard. Patrick seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Wilson working some strikes from top position.
And that's the end of the fight! Daniel Patrick showed his dominance in that final round. Well Patrick has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
