Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Karsten Koererlaerer (ranked 2075 p4p, 3535 weight class) and Anti Happy (ranked 181 p4p, 290 weight class). Happy has chosen Bvana iz lagune & Mikri Maus - AntiHepi as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Karsten Koererlaerer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anti Happy!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Happy.
Koererlaerer appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Sloppy strikes from Happy. Those never looked like landing.
Karsten Koererlaerer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Koererlaerer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Koererlaerer takes a swing at Happy's ribcage but misses.
Koererlaerer dives in and grabs Happy's left leg, looking for a takedown. Happy pushes down on Koererlaerer's head and hops out.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Koererlaerer is defended easily by Happy.

Happy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Koererlaerer moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Koererlaerer looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Happy misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Koererlaerer shoots in looking for a takedown but Happy manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Koererlaerer's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Karsten Koererlaerer. That's going to take a lot out of him.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Happy working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Happy scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Happy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Happy wants it to stay on the feet.

Happy moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Happy manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Koererlaerer on his heels. He'll look to pass Koererlaerer's guard now, I'm sure.
Happy is stalling in the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Happy looking to pass the guard.
Happy is pushing down on Koererlaerer's leg trying to pass to half guard. Koererlaerer is fighting to maintain full guard but Happy has managed to sneak the leg through.
Happy is controlling the pace.
Happy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Koererlaerer keeps working.

Happy is controlling the pace.
Koererlaerer is looking to escape.
Happy takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Happy is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Koererlaerer doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Happy.
Koererlaerer has his hands clasped together around Happy's back. He's all about the action.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Koererlaerer wants to control but Happy is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Happy keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Koererlaerer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Happy tries to avoid it but Koererlaerer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Happy to the ground. Happy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Koererlaerer thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Koererlaerer looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Happy is looking for a sweep.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Anti Happy dominated that round.

Happy looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Koererlaerer!
Koererlaerer is trying to improve his position.

Koererlaerer tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Happy wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Karsten Koererlaerer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Happy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Happy is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Koererlaerer knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

You can see the frustration on Koererlaerer's face as Happy controls the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Happy tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Happy has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Koererlaerer trying to control but Happy flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
Koererlaerer is trying to get back to his feet but Happy has full control of the position and if anything, Koererlaerer has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Happy keeps control of the position easily here as Koererlaerer tries to buck him off.

Koererlaerer is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Happy gets his way!

Happy is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Koererlaerer knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Koererlaerer for a finish.

Koererlaerer tries to roll but Happy sticks to his back.
Happy has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Koererlaerer breaks Happy's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Happy looking for a triangle here. Koererlaerer is fighting it but it looks tight! Happy pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Koererlaerer is tapping out - this one is all over!
