The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Liu has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Liu manages to break the clinch.
Zayer Jr tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Liu throws a nice looking combination but Zayer Jr bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Zayer Jr has hold of one of Liu's legs. Liu is fighting the takedown attempt but Zayer Jr gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Liu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Zayer Jr instigates a clinch.

Zayer Jr has Liu pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Zayer Jr pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Liu tumbling to the mat - Zayer Jr dives into Liu's guard.

Liu checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
As Zayer Jr backs off Liu throws a huge counter combo but Zayer Jr manages to avoid it all.
Zayer Jr avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Zayer Jr looks to land a body kick but Liu moved away.

Liu wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Zayer Jr manages to pass to side control.
