The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sheahan goes for a double leg but Wood avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Wood continues to drive forward.
Wood is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Sheahan.
Sheahan doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Wood moves into the clinch.
Wood tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Wood landing knees to the head.

It looks like Rian Sheahan has been cut.
Wood connects with a nasty looking knee right to Sheahan's face.
Sheahan tries for a takedown. No joy.
Eli Wood has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rian Sheahan.
Sheahan is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Wood gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Wood has the Thai plumb, controlling the head nicely. He loads up with a big knee to the head and Sheahan goes down! Wood pounces into side control - this one could be over soon!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sheahan is still in real trouble! Can Wood finish him?
Wood lands a strong strike to the head of Sheahan. That's dazed him! Wood looking to finish here. Sheahan is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Wood lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
