The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doctore shoots for a takedown but Rodrigues saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Rodrigues buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Rodrigues works Doctore's body with a nice hook.
Doctore looks for a takedown but Rodrigues sprawls well.
Rodrigues steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Doctore.
Rodrigues digs a good body shot into Doctore's ribs.
Rodrigues throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Nice takedown defense from Rodrigues. No joy for Doctore on that attempt.
Rodrigues tries to counter with a clinch but Doctore shakes him off and moves away.

Rodrigues has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Doctore is landing a low percentage of strikes.
