PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Roger Field (ranked 3548 p4p, 24813 weight class) and Yawa Kiang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Field comes to the cage accompanied by Blown to pieces - Grimskunk. Yawa Kiang is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Roger Field! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 18 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yawa Kiang! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Phil Schofield and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Field moves into the clinch successfully.
Kiang managing to block the knees to the body from Field.
Field misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Kiang.
Kiang has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Field after a bit of a struggle. Field's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Field finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Kiang counters with a body kick. Kiang tries to keep at a distance but Field has taken the fight into the clinch. Field turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Field manages to end up in side control. Field controls the position. Field definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Field thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Kiang dodges the ground and pound from Field.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kiang wants to control but Field postures up. The referee asks Field politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Field prefers to stall for the moment though. Field has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Field has hold of Kiang's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Kiang seems comfortable defending it but Field has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Kiang is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Kiang is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Field couldn't care less - he's delighted!
