Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Silva!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Franklyn Lucas and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frakus tries for a takedown but Silva sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Frakus definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch but Frakus swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Frakus misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Frakus shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Silva but Silva pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scut Frakus. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Frakus is defended easily by Silva.

Silva gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Silva pushes off an throws an elbow but Frakus leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Frakus seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Silva for as long as he can get away with.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Silva can do anything to dispel that myth.

Silva lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Silva lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

It looks like Scut Frakus has been cut.
Silva is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Frakus is keeping busy.
Silva misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Frakus.
Frakus jumps guard but Silva stands there with Frakus around his waist. Frakus gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Frakus slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Silva fails with a takedown attempt.
Scut Frakus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anderson Silva.
Silva is breathing heavily.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Frakus paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Silva displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Frakus.
Silva shoots in looking for a takedown but Frakus manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Silva's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Frakus is taking a breather. Silva says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Frakus throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Frakus off to one side.

Frakus closes the distance and clinches up with Silva, looking for a takedown. Frakus pushes Silva against the cage but Silva circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Frakus shoots in for a double leg but Silva sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Silva is trying to maintain a safe position but Frakus gets an underhook and turns Silva into the cage.

Frakus shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Silva but Silva pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Frakus dives in for a single leg takedown but Silva sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Silva is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Frakus tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Frakus has a couple of punches blocked by Silva.

Silva tries a body shot but Frakus blocks it.
Silva has Frakus pressed against the cage, preventing Frakus from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
A frustrated look appears on Silva's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Silva jumps guard but Frakus turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Scut Frakus has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Frakus jumps guard and drags Silva to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

I would just about give that final round to Anderson Silva.
I've got Silva winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
