Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bing Bang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gunner Mason!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Mason swings away with a body shot that misses
so Bang counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Mason is wriggling around but Bang manages to pass to half guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Bang's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Bang wants to control but Mason is keeping him busy.
Bang working over Mason with some ground and pound. Mason looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Bang prevents Mason from standing back up.
Mason is trying to control Bang's posture. Bang takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Mason! Bang is rotating here... this could be the end... Mason is out! Bang has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!
