Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steve Reeves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xander Coll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reeves's entrance music is Motley Crye - Kickstart My Heart. A fine choice. Xander Coll acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Steve Reeves! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Xander Coll! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Jonathan Paton and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coll keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Coll gets a clinch. Coll's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Coll fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Reeves, pushing him back against the cage. Reeves tries a knee to the head but Coll blocks it.
Reeves tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Coll just stands there and leans against the cage. Reeves tries to break the clinch but Coll is controlling the position. Reeves lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Coll backwards. Reeves breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Reeves misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Reeves scores with a nice head shot. Reeves is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Reeves circles away from the clinch attempt.
Coll tries to clinch but Reeves is having none of it. Coll fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Reeves, pushing him back against the cage. Reeves tries a knee to the head but Coll blocks it.

Reeves shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Coll as he avoids it easily. Coll takes the fight into the clinch. A frustrated look appears on Reeves's face as he tries to break the clinch. Reeves jumps guard and drags Coll to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Coll not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Reeves pulls Coll in to control the position. Coll trying to control the position from guard on top but Reeves is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Reeves might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Coll is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Reeves looking to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Coll tries to clinch but Reeves moves away and Reeves counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Reeves. Coll is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reeves wants to pass the guard but Coll is keeping the position. Coll is trying to control the position but Reeves postures up. Reeves looking to pass the guard. Coll seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Reeves seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Coll does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Reeves stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Coll swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Coll is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Coll controls Reeves momentarily but Reeves frees himself. Coll is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Reeves lands with a slapping head kick. Coll stuffs the takedown. Coll will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Coll clinches up with Reeves and pushes him back against the cage. Reeves misses with a knee to the head. A frustrated look appears on Reeves's face as he tries to break the clinch. Coll comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Reeves tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. You can see the frustration on Reeves's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Coll trying to control the action but Reeves is working from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Coll darts in and clinches Reeves up against the cage. Coll changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Reeves fights it off and pushes away nicely.
