Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Evan MacMillan (ranked 3135 p4p, 3812 weight class) and Vedran Mihaljevic (ranked 333 p4p, 407 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Evan MacMillan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vedran Mihaljevic! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Valeri Chadov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! MacMillan misses with a takedown attempt and Mihaljevic counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. MacMillan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mihaljevic swivels and escapes. Mihaljevic looks like he wants to counter punch here. Mihaljevic clinches up against the cage. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Mihaljevic. Mihaljevic breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
MacMillan shoots in and bounces Mihaljevic off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. MacMillan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mihaljevic swivels though and keeps the full guard. MacMillan drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Mihaljevic dives on top into guard. MacMillan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mihaljevic is one step ahead there. Mihaljevic has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of MacMillan is proving hard to escape from.
That's one minute gone in the round. MacMillan is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mihaljevic wants to stand and escape but instead MacMillan has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Mihaljevic wants to sweep but no luck. Mihaljevic keeping moving, preventing MacMillan from controlling successfully. MacMillan advances position into side control! Mihaljevic dodges the ground and pound from MacMillan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. MacMillan is trying to get an arm triangle but Mihaljevic is defending well. Mihaljevic is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, MacMillan asserts his dominance and retains side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. MacMillan landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. MacMillan goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Mihaljevic rolls with the submission and now he's on top in MacMillan's guard! Nice work there by Mihaljevic! MacMillan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mihaljevic can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. MacMillan looking for a guillotine here but Mihaljevic defends easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mihaljevic gets to his feet - MacMillan follows without any prompting. MacMillan doesn't succeed with the takedown and MacMillan takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Evan MacMillan has been cut. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Evan MacMillan. That's going to take a lot out of him. MacMillan get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. MacMillan stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Mihaljevic runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Vedran Mihaljevic! In his post fight interview, Vedran Mihaljevic started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
