Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Lett (ranked 2518 p4p, 2651 weight class) and Mean Gean (ranked 319 p4p, 338 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Lett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mean Gean!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gean tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lett swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gean lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

It looks like David Lett has been cut.

Gean shoots in and gets a takedown into Lett's guard.

Gean must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lett has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gean can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Lett definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Gean is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Lett working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gean doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gean manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Lett had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gean defends it easily.

Lett is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Gean not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Lett working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gean doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gean manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Lett tries to bench press Gean off him but Gean keeps the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lett is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gean pulls his head out easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Lett tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gean wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Mean Gean is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Gean takes a little break here. Lett wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Mean Gean comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Gean has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
