This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 88 wins and 45 losses; Matvey Pavlov! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 40 wins and 35 losses; Able Archer! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Edson Gomes.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Pavlov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Pavlov (4) vs (0) Archer Pavlov is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Archer will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. We've been hearing good reports from Pavlov's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Pavlov trying to control the position but Archer is working away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Archer can't do much from the bottom here. Archer is not content to let Pavlov control the position.

Pavlov trying to control the action but Archer is working from the bottom. Archer seems a little lost for a moment, as Pavlov dominates the positioning. Pavlov has knee on belly momentarily but Archer bucks him off and regains half guard. Pavlov is keen to just control but Archer is a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Archer makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Archer. Pavlov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Archer swivels though and keeps the full guard. Pavlov sitting in guard here, content to control. Archer bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. That's eight minutes gone in the round. Archer is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pavlov defends well. Pavlov passes Archer's left leg - he's now in half guard. Archer reaches up to try and control the position but Pavlov seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Archer rolls and tries to escape and now Pavlov has his back!

That's nine minutes gone in the round. Pavlov gets his hands free as Archer looks to control. Pavlov tries to get the hooks in deep but Archer pushed the leg off. Archer tries to roll but Pavlov sticks to his back.
Pavlov trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Archer doesn't escape. Pavlov looking to break Archer's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Archer remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Pavlov will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Archer is keeping busy.
Pavlov biding his time, controlling Archer. Archer manages to reverse the position and now he's in Pavlov's guard. Nice work there by Archer.

That's ten minutes gone in the round. Archer is fighting to break Pavlov's control of his arms but Pavlov is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Pavlov has his feet on Archer's thighs here. He's pushed Archer off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Archer screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
