This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 21 wins and 20 losses; Chan Siam! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 32 wins and 35 losses; Roman Boesku!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.

Siam fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Boesku sprawls well initially but Siam persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Boesku is looking for a sweep. Siam is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Siam has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Boesku looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Boesku is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Siam wants to pass to mount but Boesku is defending the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boesku tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Siam presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Boesku is trying to escape the mount but Siam keeps good control and instead manages to take Boesku's back.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Siam controlling the positon.

Boesku tries to roll but Siam sticks to his back.
Siam is riding his opponent, not letting Boesku buck him off.
You can see the frustration on Boesku's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Boesku keeps trying to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Siam just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Boesku can't escape the position.
Boesku just trying to survive but Siam is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Siam has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Boesku's body.

Siam is trying to stick to Boesku's back but Boesku is turning into Siam. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Siam's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Boesku.

Boesku stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Siam swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Boesku is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Let's hope that Boesku has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Boesku slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Boesku wants to lay and pray for a moment but Siam keeps working.

Siam is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Boesku off and has taken his back!

Siam has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Siam has the hooks in. Boesku is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Siam controlling the position well here. Boesku rolled but Siam kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Siam seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Boesku for as long as he can get away with.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
