Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chris Zeal (ranked 3308 p4p, 4409 weight class) and Kai Walsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zeal comes into the arena with War eye blaring out of the sound system. Kai Walsh will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Zeal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kai Walsh! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walsh throws a leg kick and Zeal counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Walsh! Walsh throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Walsh tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Zeal changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Walsh fails with a takedown attempt. Zeal takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Walsh is trying hard to land a takedown here. Zeal sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Zeal changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Walsh misses with a jab to the body
and Zeal counters with a single leg into guard. Walsh didn't expect that. Zeal keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Walsh's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walsh lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Zeal is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Walsh passes Zeal's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Zeal knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Walsh on the ground. Zeal is trying to get back to full guard. Zeal on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Zeal tries to get out of the position. Walsh moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Zeal.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walsh tries for a kimura but Zeal is defending well. Zeal tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Walsh wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Zeal is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Walsh is one step ahead and moves to full mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Walsh controlling the pace for now. Zeal is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Walsh landing strikes, looking to finish! Walsh working for a submission but Zeal is keeping him at bay.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zeal in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Walsh trying to control but Zeal is having none of it. Walsh scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Zeal?

That's four minutes gone in the round. Walsh stands up from mount. Strange move. Kai Walsh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Walsh throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Nice jab there from Walsh. Walsh moves into the clinch successfully.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Zeal looking for a takedown. Walsh pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Walsh throws a front kick aimed at Zeal's knee but Zeal avoids it well. Zeal attempts a counter takedown but Walsh avoids it well and moves away. Zeal walks into a jab. Walsh drives through and clinches with Zeal against the cage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Kai Walsh dominated that round. That's time! Zeal's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Zeal on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Walsh closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Zeal to the mat! Zeal manages to get full guard.
Zeal is rocked! Walsh scoring with punches to the head and body. Oh Zeal is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Walsh cracks Zeal with a solid left hand. Walsh drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Walsh jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Walsh has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Walsh lands a couple of elbows. Zeal looking for subs off his back but Walsh has passed one foot through into half guard.
Walsh has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Walsh lands a big elbow - Zeal is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Walsh!
