Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lamont Chai (ranked 4629 p4p, 4428 weight class) and Shahid Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shahid Khan!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Richard Clark and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan closes the distance but Chai moves to the side
and Khan takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Khan tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Chai counters with a nice low kick that buckles Khan's knee momentarily.
Khan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Chai is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Khan is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chai is looking for a sweep. Khan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Khan connects with a nice short shot to Chai's temple.
Khan is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Chai is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Khan scores with a couple of nice shots.

Chai knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Khan on the ground.
Khan uses his free foot to push down on Chai's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Chai.

Khan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Chai is in all sorts of trouble here.

A big strike lands for Khan! That's really hurt Chai and he's turned his back - Khan keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Khan jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
