Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yawa Kiang (ranked 24771 p4p, 24678 weight class) and Way Nada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yawa Kiang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 25 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Way Nada!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Nada shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Nada showed some decent athleticism there.
Nada thows a huge punch but Kiang dodges it nicely.
Kiang keeping hold of Nada's head, controlling as best he can.
Nada not doing much here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nada not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kiang wants to control but Nada is keeping busy.
Kiang is holding on to half guard well.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Nada controlling the action here.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Nada shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nada stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nada wants it to stay on the feet.
Nada tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Nada is defended easily by Kiang.
Kiang is looking to counter with head kicks.
Nada shoots in but no luck this time.
Yawa Kiang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Way Nada.
Kiang lands a front kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kiang enables Nada to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kiang manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Kiang has his feet on Nada's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Kiang shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Kiang performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Kiang has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Nada keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nada keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Yawa Kiang dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Nada looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Kiang!
Kiang stuck in half guard on the bottom here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nada controls the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kiang wants to control but Nada postures up.
Nada in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Kiang is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Nada off and has taken his back!
Nada looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kiang throwing damaging strikes from the back! Nada could be in trouble here!
You can see the frustration on Nada's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
What can Nada do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Kiang seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Nada for as long as he can get away with.
Nada just trying to survive but Kiang is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nada wants to escape the position.
Nada grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
Kiang just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Nada has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Kiang.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Nada trying to control the position but Kiang manages to sink in the hooks.
Yawa Kiang overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Kiang controlling the positon.
Kiang is not going to allow Nada to sit and survive in this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nada surviving as best he can, preventing damage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Yawa Kiang dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Kiang gets caught flat footed, as Nada shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kiang looking for a sweep. Not yet Kiang, not yet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kiang pulls Nada in to control the position.
Kiang can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nada controls the pace.
Nada's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Kiang is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nada can do to turn this around?

More stalling from Nada.
Nada being controlled here momentarily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nada not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Nada darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Kiang trying to hold on to Nada's head to control him but Nada postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kiang gets full guard.
Kiang has his hands on Nada's head, controlling the position.
Nada is pushing down on Kiang's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kiang is fighting to maintain full guard but Nada has managed to sneak the leg through.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Still in half guard, Nada seems content to control.
Kiang manages to get to full guard.
Nada trying to control but Kiang is working from the bottom.
Way Nada has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Yawa Kiang is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kiang wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

And that's the end of the fight!
Way Nada comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kiang has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
