Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Don Cortez (ranked 869 p4p, 447 weight class) and Ahjo Kuomanen (ranked 45 p4p, 25 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 15 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Don Cortez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ahjo Kuomanen! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Glass and James Atkins.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kuomanen looks to land a right hand but Cortez moved out of range. Kuomanen slips under a jab from Cortez. Kuomanen takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Don Cortez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cortez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kuomanen moves away. Cortez looks to land a right hand but Kuomanen moved out of range. Kuomanen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cortez. Sloppy strikes from Cortez. Those never looked like landing. Cortez throws a hook to the side of Kuomanen's head but Kuomanen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Cortez misses with a hook to the body
enabling Kuomanen to counter with a crisp jab. Kuomanen just misses with a punch to the body.
Kuomanen scores with a hook. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cortez throws a right and a left that Kuomanen avoids nicely. Kuomanen missing with a left hand there. Cortez was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Kuomanen throws a good cross that connects.
Kuomanen gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cortez bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Kuomanen fails with the takedown. Kuomanen moves out of range of the strikes. Cortez showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kuomanen.
Cortez throws a combination that misses
and Kuomanen counters by clinching up.
Kuomanen is fighting off a takedown attempt but Cortez is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Kuomanen to the mat. Kuomanen regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Cortez with a flurry of punches that miss. Cortez wants to control from the top but Kuomanen keeps moving.
Kuomanen pushes a forearm under Cortez's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Cortez is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ahjo Kuomanen! Ahjo Kuomanen decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
