Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Kelvin (ranked 3337 p4p, 4800 weight class) and Michael Dawson (ranked 399 p4p, 489 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Michael Dawson enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andrew Kelvin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Dawson! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kelvin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dawson moves away. Dawson flicks out a counter leg kick but Kelvin steps away. Kelvin scores with a hook to the body. Dawson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Kelvin definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Kelvin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Dawson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. A combination from Dawson does no damage. Kelvin is looking to counter the offense by Dawson and move into the clinch. A combination from Kelvin does no damage. Dawson throws a series of strikes that have Kelvin backpedaling.
Kelvin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Dawson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Kelvin has managed to clinch.
Kelvin fails to pull guard.
This has been an exciting period of action! Dawson wants to break free but Kelvin has control.
Dawson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Kelvin jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dawson walks away with a smile on his face. Kelvin gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's one minute gone in the round. A nice combination there by Kelvin.
Dawson lands a lovely overhand right. Dawson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kelvin connects with a good right hand that stumbles Dawson. Dawson circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Dawson misses with a few strikes there.
Kelvin attempts a counter takedown but Dawson avoids it well and moves away. A punch combination from Dawson misses. Dawson throws a right and a left that Kelvin avoids nicely. Dawson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Dawson. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dawson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kelvin clinches up with Dawson and pushes him back against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dawson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Kelvin jumps into guard, dragging Dawson to the mat.
Kelvin is pulling down on Dawson's head. It's preventing any offense from Dawson, at least for the moment. Dawson is posturing up here but Kelvin has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Dawson tries to roll out but it's too tight and Dawson has to tap! Slick submission there by Kelvin!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Andrew Kelvin! After winning the bout, Andrew Kelvin thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
