Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Simon Sez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lasse Lamaannuttaja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Sez might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Let the Beat Build. Simon Sez has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Sez missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Lamaannuttaja wants to get back to his feet.
Sez is looking for a kimura but Lamaannuttaja is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sez to get the leverage. Sez is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Sez is looking to advance position but Lamaannuttaja won't allow it. Sez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Lamaannuttaja is trying to maintain the position but Sez is very close to passing his half guard. Lamaannuttaja actively working from the bottom here. Sez throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Lamaannuttaja gets the takedown into side control. That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Lamaannuttaja bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Sez looks to move to half guard but instead Lamaannuttaja has passed into mount! Damn! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sez gets back to half guard. Sez looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Lamaannuttaja moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Sez. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Sez is looking for a sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lamaannuttaja wants to control but Sez is keeping him busy. Sez regains half guard. Lamaannuttaja is looking to take a break and control but Sez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Sez tries to roll over but Lamaannuttaja keeps him under control. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Sez with a poor takedown and Lamaannuttaja counters with a shoot takedown. Sez fights it but they end up in guard. Sez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lamaannuttaja doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lamaannuttaja manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Lamaannuttaja looking to pass the guard. Sez is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Sez closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lamaannuttaja to the mat! Lamaannuttaja manages to get full guard. Sez looking to pass the guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Lamaannuttaja utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Sez chips away with some ground and pound. Sez with a flurry of punches that miss. Sez throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Lamaannuttaja is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Lamaannuttaja keeping full guard, as Sez tries to pass. Lamaannuttaja throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sez missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Sez thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Lamaannuttaja working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lamaannuttaja is pressing down on Sez's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lamaannuttaja is trying to keep Sez in close.
Sez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Lamaannuttaja looking for a triangle here. Sez is fighting it but it looks tight! Lamaannuttaja pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Sez is tapping out - this one is all over!
