Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ed Woods!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Shawn Miller!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Peter Branson and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller thumps Woods with a low kick.
Miller tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Woods was well out of range. Poor timing from Miller.

Miller gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Woods to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Woods passes into half guard.
Woods not doing much here.
Woods working Miller over with strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Woods is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Miller is trying to stand.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Miller manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Miller has Woods up against the cage in a clinch.

Woods breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Woods misses with a takedown attempt - Miller sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Woods gets a double leg takedown into Miller's guard.
Woods stands and throws Miller's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Woods wants to lay and pray for a moment but Miller keeps working.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Woods advances nicely into full mount.
Woods working away from the top, dropping strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Miller is trying to stand.

Miller bucks Woods off and manages to get back to his feet!
Woods blocks a head kick by Miller.
Miller looks to land a combination but Woods avoids it well.
Woods looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Woods.
Woods wants to clinch up but Miller keeps it at a distance.
Woods waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Miller.
Woods tries to clinch but Miller moves away
and Miller counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Woods thinking.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Miller scores with a push kick.

Woods changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Miller looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Miller is looking to get back to his feet here but Woods is keeping cool and he's managed to take Miller's back.
Miller looks winded!
Miller trying to get back to his feet but Woods is in full control for now.
Woods controls the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Can Miller hold on?! Woods is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.

Woods has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Miller is defending well but eventually Woods manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Miller has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ed Woods!
