PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Big Steve (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cope Two (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steve comes to the cage accompanied by RENEGADE MASTER. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Big Steve!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cope Two!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Two misses with a double jab.
Two lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Steve circles away quickly and effectively.

Steve moves into the clinch.
Two is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Steve has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Two avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Steve tries for a takedown but Two manages to get underhooks.
Steve tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Big Steve. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Two can't get the takedown.
Two gets underhooks to prevent Steve's takedown attempt.
Steve can't break the clinch.
Two pushes off an throws an elbow but Steve leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Steve manages to pull guard.
Two with a flurry of punches that miss.
Two wants to control from the top but Steve keeps moving.
Two must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Steve wants to sweep but no luck.
Steve working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Two.
Two working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Two throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Steve is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
A leg kick checked by Steve.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Two clinches but Steve breaks the clinch

and Steve counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Two looking for submissions off his back.
Two really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Steve. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Steve is trying to control. Two wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Steve is looking for a kimura but Two is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Steve to get the leverage.
Steve wants to lay and pray for a moment but Two keeps working.
Two is trying to stand back up but Steve is controlling him
Two trying to control here.

Steve in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Two tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Steve!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Big Steve!
