Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pyotr Petrov (ranked 1812 p4p, 2727 weight class) and Byron Neal (ranked 250 p4p, 357 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neal lands with a right hand.

Neal gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Petrov lands with a right to the head.
Neal lands a nice shot to the body.
Petrov takes a knee to the side of the body.
Neal misses with a knee strike.
Petrov working aggressively here.
Neal throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
A short body shot lands from Petrov as the two fighters clinch.
Neal misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Petrov.
Petrov lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Petrov lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Neal using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Petrov has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

It looks like Pyotr Petrov has been cut.
We've been told by Petrov's head coaches at GWad's Playpen that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Neal rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Petrov moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Petrov wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Neal gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Neal throws a looping overhand right but Petrov ducks down to avoid it.

Neal has managed to clinch.
Neal throws a knee to the head but misses.
A short body shot lands from Petrov as the two fighters clinch.
Petrov working hard to break the clinch.
Neal with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Neal throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Petrov blocks it with crossed arms.
Petrov on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Petrov is leaning against Neal and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Neal connects with a nasty looking knee right to Petrov's face.
Petrov wants to get back to striking at distance but Neal won't allow it.

Petrov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Petrov counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Petrov lands a jab to Neal's midsection.

Neal swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Petrov cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Neal tries to move into range but Petrov moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Neal throws a head kick that Petrov semi-blocks.
Neal wants to clinch but Petrov slips to the side
and Petrov connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Neal misses the shot to the body.
Neal tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Petrov counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Neal misses with a wild body shot.
Petrov swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Neal tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Neal scores with a nice right hand.
Neal throws an off balance right hand
and Petrov counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Neal is rocked!
Petrov finds Neal's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Neal flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Petrov lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Neal will be OK.
