Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jerome Spong (ranked 2216 p4p, 4035 weight class) and Sideways Pete (ranked 283 p4p, 461 weight class). Spong comes to the cage accompanied by Bullet For My Valentine - In Loving Memory. Sideways Pete is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jerome Spong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sideways Pete! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pete closes the distance and clinches. Pete creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Spong breaks from the clinch.

Spong is trying to break free. Pete throws an elbow but it misses.
Spong pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Spong swats away the attempt to clinch by Pete. Spong is looking to counter punch. Spong gets tackled into the cage by Pete. Pete maintains the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pete pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Spong lands an uppercut. Pete throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Spong is trying to break the clinch but Pete has him pressed against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spong pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Pete closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Spong working hard to break the clinch. Pete's coach down at was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Pete's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Spong lands a left hand that snaps the head of Pete backwards. Spong pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Pete darts in trying to clinch and Spong counters with a straight right hand. Spong swats away the attempt to clinch by Pete. Pete wants to clinch. Pete wants to clinch but Spong slips to the side and Spong counters with a nice right hand that sends Pete toppling to the canvas! Pete scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Spong finish him?!
Pete is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pete closes the distance but Spong moves to the side and Spong counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Pete is still on wobbly legs! Can Spong finish him?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Spong engages and cracks Pete with a massive lead left hook - Pete tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Spong is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jerome Spong! A very excited looking Jerome Spong rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
