Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Omar Dahir (ranked 3571 p4p, 4043 weight class) and Trey Sheppherd (ranked 401 p4p, 429 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Omar Dahir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Trey Sheppherd!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dahir with a lazy takedown attempt
and Sheppherd counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Sheppherd moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Sheppherd misses with a body kick.
Dahir shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sheppherd's guard.
Sheppherd is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Dahir dives into side control.
Sheppherd is trying to improve his position.
Sheppherd is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
You can see the frustration on Sheppherd's face as Dahir controls the position.
Dahir's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Sheppherd takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

A lull in the action here as Dahir stalls from top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sheppherd is working to avoid the ground and pound but Dahir connects with a decent elbow.
Dahir cracks Sheppherd with a big right hand but Sheppherd just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Dahir content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Sheppherd takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Sheppherd is still in real trouble! Can Dahir finish him?
A big shot lands for Dahir! That's hurt Sheppherd! Will he recover? Dahir fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Omar Dahir!
