Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Emerson Stewart (ranked 4448 p4p, 4502 weight class) and Mieszko Kotula (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Emerson Stewart! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mieszko Kotula! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stewart shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Stewart throws an overhand right that lands on Kotula's shoulder, as Kotula tries to avoid the shot. Kotula bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Kotula is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Stewart has escaped the position, nice work there. Kotula taking a breather here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kotula is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Stewart knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kotula thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kotula wants to control but Stewart is keeping him busy. Kotula gets to mount! Stewart was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Kotula looking to secure an arm triangle but Stewart defends it well. Kotula wants to take his opponent's back but Stewart doesn't allow it. Stewart tries to hold on but Kotula pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kotula controlling from mount. Stewart tries to improve his position but Kotula has taken his back! Kotula has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Stewart tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Kotula pushes Stewart away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mieszko Kotula! A relieved looking Mieszko Kotula thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
